It is two years today since we lost one of the most amazing and inspiring people I have ever had the honour of knowing.

Sharon Holder was a wonderful person - she always had a smile on her face, was always welcoming and lived life to the full. She was an inspiration as she battled cancer from 2007 and, to the outside world, she was a model of resilience and resolve.

She was married to Steve for twenty years, in the happiest marriage I have ever known. The photo here shows them both, on a visit to Twickenham back in December 2012, when she was recovering from another difficult period of treatment.

Sharon inspired me to write Bermeja in her memory. But this was insignificant compared to Steve's efforts throughout last year.

In 2016, Steve ran an amazing twenty marathons across a number of different countries - the number twenty reflecting the years he and Sharon were married.

In the process of getting through these 520 miles on foot, Steve managed to raise over £10,000 for three worthwhile causes.

So, in Sharon's memory, I'd like to invite you to check out Steve's blog named 20Marathons2016 and give to the excellent charities he's supporting on his donation page.

And so I raise a glass to Sharon on this day - this year and every year.

'No day travels by,
You're not in our minds'
